SINGLE PLY ROOFING

EPDM

EPDM is a thermoset membrane, commonly referred to "rubber roofing". EPDM is a durable synthetic rubber membrane with a proven performance history. It is usually black in color, however, certain manufacturer's offer white membranes as well. EPDM is manufactured in a variety of sheet widths from 10 to 50 feet and features lengths up to 200 feet. Membrane thicknesses range from 45 to 90 mils with manufacturer warranty periods ranging from 15 to 30 years (dependent on design criteria).

TPO

TPO is a thermoplastic membrane, which has become one of the fastest growing commercial roofing products in the industry. TPO seams are hot-air welded together, which is considered the best seaming technique of all single ply materials. As demand increases for UV reflective and energy efficient roof coverings (substantially less heat absorbed) use of TPO is expected to continue growing. TPO is manufactured in thicknesses ranging from 45 to 80 mils and is typically white in color, but has many color options available. Manufacturer warranty periods range from 15 to 30 years based on design criteria. MidAmerica Roofing, Inc. installed its first TPO roof system in 1994, believed to be the first TPO application in metropolitan Chicago.

PVC

PVC is a thermoplastic membrane, which has experienced rapid growth in the USA and worldwide. The manufacturing process, combined with its energy efficiency, resistance to chemical exposure and superior reinforcement scrims provide for an excellent roof covering. PVC seams are hot-air welded together as are all other thermoplastic membranes, which is considered the best seaming technique in the industry. PVC membranes are manufactured in thicknesses ranging from 45 to 80 mils and are typically white in color, but many color options are available. Manufacturer warranty periods rainge from 15 to 30 years based on design criteria.
